* We suggest that you select a school before selecting a house as proximity to
schools is always useful and some areas of Brussels have traffic problems at
peak times.
* Bear in mind that schools often have a waiting list, contact them as early as
possible.
* If you think that the length of your stay will justify it, consider the Belgian
schools - its a good opportunity for your children to become bilingual, there are
also bilingual schools in the area.
* Talk to people already in Brussels about schools and try to visit at least two
schools before deciding on one.
* If your child has a learning disorder - or you suspect that they might - contact
Europes Children - Our Concern, an English language organisation in Brussels
that provides support and information for families of children with learning
difficulties. They have a help line and organise conferences on various learning
